As 2026 is the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, WAMA stands in solidarity with Indigenous and pastoral women, especially in Mongolia, advocating for land rights, traditional ecological knowledge, and protection against destructive extractive industries to ensure a just and sustainable future.

Nomads' RED LINE Initiative for Sustainable Pasture Rights

The Red Line was jointly developed by herders living in mining-affected areas, energy, and infrastructure development projects in the Gobi region, along with civil society organizations advocating for their rights, livelihoods, and environmental protection.
